The George Telegraph Training Institute commenced operations in and since then it has been dedicated to the empowerment of youth through training in vocational trades. As a pioneer in the field, the Institute quickly gained a formidable reputation and its excellence in training was recognized by diverse authorities like the British Army, the Indian Defence Forces, Maritime Authorities and the British Railway Board. GTTI at present imparting training to more than , students in more than centres located in West Bengal, North East, Jharkhand, Odisha Bangladesh. The Institute is a training partner of National Skill Development Corporation NSDC. The courses available at all centres are NSDC affiliated.
